PC Vishnunath, popularly known as the Power House of the Indian National Congress, is one of the strongest youth leaders in Kerala.Vishnunath, who is currently the Vice President of KPCC, started his political career by joining KSU.Vishnu's active political career began during his studies at Sasthamcotta Devaswom College.Vishnunath served as the Arts Club Secretary and University Union Councilor at the College.Vishnunath was elected to the Kerala University Senate in 2001 and 2002 respectively.He was then the State President of KSU from 2002 to 2006. During his tenure as State President, PC was actively involved in student struggles and agitations.PC Vishnunath entered the Assembly from Chengannur in 2006. He defeated Saji Cherian of the CPM by a margin of 5321 votes.Subsequently, he won the 2011 elections and defeated Adv. CS defeated Sujatha of CPM. But in the match for the third time
in 2016, PC Vishnunath lost to CPM's KK Ramachandran Nair. He lost by 7,983 votes.
In 2014,Vishnunath was nominated as KPCC General Secretary and he was appointed as the Secretary of the Indian National Congress in 2017 with charge of Karnataka.
He has been the Vice President of KPCC since January 2020.
