Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, born on February 24, 1959, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, to Dr. Laxmi Mall Singhvi and Kamla Singhvi, is a distinguished figure known for his multifaceted roles as a senior Advocate, political and social Worker.

Dr. Singhvi'spolitical career spans several significant roles and responsibilities. In April 2006, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha, marking the beginning of his political journey. He served as the National Spokesperson for the Congress Party from 2001 to April 2012. He was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2012 for his second term and again elected from West Benagl under the Congress banner in 2018 for the third term.

His commitment to public service is evident through his tenure as a member of various committees. Noteworthy among these are his roles as Chairperson of the Committee on Commerce from September 2022 onwards and as Chairperson of the Committee on Home Affairs from April 2022 to September 2022.
