Ramnivas Rawat is a political figure in Madhya Pradesh, having served as a Congress MLA for six terms. He represented the Vijaypur constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in the years 1990, 1993, 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2023.
However, he faced defeat in 1998, losing to the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)'s Babulal Mewra by a margin of over 6,000 votes. In the 2018 Assembly polls, he suffered another setback, losing to BJP candidate Seetaram by 2,840 votes.
Rawat also ventured into the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, where he contested against Narendra Singh Tomar in Morena but lost by a significant margin of 1,13,341 votes.
His political journey includes serving as Minister of State under Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh from 1993 to 1998 and later as a Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister in 1998. Notably, Rawat joined the BJP in May 2024, marking a significant shift in his political allegiance.
