D. P. Vats

Lt.Gen. (Dr.) D. P. Vats, born with Devender Paul Vats name, on April 16, 1950, in Thurana, Distt. Hisar, Haryana, is a medical educationist and public figure. He was born to Shiv Dhan and Har Kaur.

His professional journey encompasses a wealth of experiences and achievements. He has served as a beacon in the realm of medical education, contributing significantly to the selection of officers in prestigious institutions such as UPSC, HPSC, and PPSC. Notably, Vats has been instrumental in fostering a progressive ethos within 'khap panchayats,' advocating against practices of consanguinity and inbreeding.

Vats's career includes pivotal roles such as Director and Commandant at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and Chairperson of the Haryana Public Service Commission in Panchkula. In addition, he was engaged in legislative affairs, having been elected to the Rajya Sabha in April 2018.
