Rajeev Shankarrao Satav

Rajeev‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Shankarrao Satav was an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress from Maharashtra. He was a member of the Lok Sabha from Hingoli constituency and was widely recognized for his organisational work, parliamentary experience, and solving of local issues related to regional development.

In his political journey, he was entrusted with some significant responsibilities within the Congress party and also served as a Minister of State in the Union Government. He was a committed leader at the national level till he passed away in ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌2021.

Rajeev Shankarrao Satav Biography

Rajeev Shankarrao Satav was born on 21 September 1974. He is the Member of Parliament from Hingoli in Maharashtra. He defeated Subhash Wankhede, Shiv Sena MP and a three time MLA. He has the distinction of wresting the Kalamnuri Assembly seat in Marathwada region from the Shiv Sena after 20 years in the 2009 elections. He is the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Incharge for the State of Gujarat & Permanent Invitee to Congress Working Committee which is the highest decision making body of Indian National Congress.
Rajeev Satav was vocal against the Farm bills passed by NDA government in Sep, 2020. On 21 September 2020, Rajiv Satav along with seven other members were suspended from the Rajya Sabha for their unruly behaviour in the house by tearing documents, breaking mics, and heckling the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha in solidarity with 2020–2021 Indian farmers' protest.

Rajeev Satav was contracted with the deadly Coronavirus and hospitalized. After a long battle, he succumbed to COVID-19 and breathed his last on 16 May, 2021.

He participated in the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath on 26th January 1994. He was a Member of the Parliamentary Delegation led by the Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha at the 132nd Inter Parliamentary Union Assembly held at Hanoi (Vietnam) in March-April 2015.
