Priyanka Tiberwal

Priyanka Tibrewal is a lawyer by profession and has built her public identity through legal and political work in West Bengal. She is enrolled as a voter in the Entally constituency and has been associated with the BJP’s political activities in Kolkata. Her professional background as an advocate has played a significant role in shaping her political journey.

She rose to wider prominence in 2021 when she became one of the key legal faces of the BJP during the post-poll violence cases in West Bengal. Acting as a counsel and petitioner, she approached the Calcutta High Court seeking investigation and relief for victims, which eventually contributed to the court ordering a CBI probe into the incidents.

Within the party structure, she has held responsibilities such as Vice President of the BJP’s youth wing in West Bengal. Her legal activism and organisational role helped her emerge as a visible political figure, particularly during a period of heightened political contestation in the state.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, she contested from the Entally constituency as a BJP candidate but was defeated by Trinamool Congress leader Swarna Kamal Saha by a significant margin. Despite the loss, her candidature marked her entry into electoral politics at the Vidhana Sabha level.

Later in 2021, she was fielded by the BJP in the high-profile Bhabanipur by-election against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. This contest brought her significant media attention and positioned her as a key political challenger from the BJP in West Bengal.

Over time, she has remained active in both legal and political spheres, continuing to engage in party activities and public issues. Her career reflects a combination of legal advocacy and electoral participation within the BJP’s West Bengal unit.

She is married to Mr Aditya Kumar Tiberwal, who is a Chartered Accountant by profession, and the couple is blessed with two lovely daughters. Before entering politics, Priyanka Tiberwal was working for an NGO which strives to set up and uplift the educational facilities for the underprivileged section of society.
