Kamakhya Prasad Tasa is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Assam.
Kamakhya Prasad Tasa was born to Dewram Tasa and Champa Tasa in Jorhat on 1st June 1975. Kamakhya Prasad Tasa's wife is Kabita Tasa and he has one daughter with her.
He was elected to the the upper house of the Indian parliament, the Rajya Sabha from Assam in 2019 on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. Before this, he was a BJP MP for 16th Lok Sabha from the Jorhat Constituency in Assam from 2014 to 2019. The BJP has selected him to contest the election from the Kaliabor constituency in the 18th general elections.
Currently, he is a Member of the Court of Assam University and a Member of the Court of Manipur University. He has a special interest in working with students and youth.
In addition to this, he has been a Member of the State Election Committee, B.J.P., Assam Pradesh and an Advisor of the Chah Janagusthi Jatiya Samanaya Mahasabha, an apex social body of the Tea Community.
Furthermore, he has been a General Secretary of the Tea and Ex-Tea Garden Labourer Development Association, a registered N.G.O. Furthermore, he has been a Convenor of the Assam Sahitya Sabha.
Apart from this, he finds solace in travelling and reading books. Beyond this, he enjoys football, badminton and athletics.
