Jagdambika​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Pal is a veteran Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh and is presently the MP of Domariyaganj. A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party with significant influence, he has been the MP of Domariyaganj in various Lok Sabha sessions.

Jagdambika Pal Biography

Jagadambika Pal, an Indian politician hailing from Uttar Pradesh, was born on October 21, 1950, in Rameshwerpuri village, Basti district, to Surya Bux Pal and Mool Raji Devi. With a background in law, he pursued his education at Gorakhpur University, obtaining an M.A. in Political Science, Ancient & Modern History, and LL.B.

Pal commenced his national-level political journey by contesting in the 15th Lok Sabha elections as an Indian National Congress candidate before switching allegiance to the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in 2014. Successfully elected in the 16th Lok Sabha from the Domariyaganj constituency, he retained his seat in the 2019 general elections. Pal's nomination by the BJP for the 2024 general elections reaffirms his political influence in the region.

Prior to his parliamentary tenure, Pal served as the MLA of Basti constituency for three consecutive terms from 1992 to 2007. Notably, he briefly held the position of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three days in 1998 when the Governor of Uttar Pradesh dismissed Kalyan Singh's government. It was later restored after court order.

Beyond politics, Pal is actively involved in cultural and educational endeavours, holding positions such as Office Bearer of All India Bhojpur Mahotsav and Chairperson of various educational institutions under the Surya Group.

His interests extend beyond politics and education to include reading, music, social work, gaming, and travel. Additionally, Pal has a passion for sports, particularly hockey and football, having represented All India University in both and played at the university level.
