Mahesh Kashyap is currently the District President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Scheduled Tribe Morcha and also the State Vice President of Sarva Adivasi Tribal Samaj. Additionally, he has been holding the post of provincial Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad since 1996.
The BJP has nominated him from the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency to contest the 2024 general elections.
He has been associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for a long time and he has been raising his voice against the conversion of tribals under the banner of Bastar Cultural Forum. He successfully organised the 'Aaya Chor Dwar Program' rally against religious conversion in Bastar by being the leader of it.
Additionally, he participated in eradicating corruption in the 'satyagraha' movement in Delhi.
He has been a Divisional Secretary at the Bhatra Social Development Council in the Bastar Division. Additionally, he was a Co-Secretary at the Kabaddi Association in Bastar. Later he became the Vice President of the Kabaddi Association. Furthermore, he was a Member of the Advisory Committee B.S.N.L I Animal Welfare Officer Syam Sevi Chhattisgarh and State Cow Service Commission Jagdalpur area.
He was born to Sukururam Kashyap and Sudri Bai Kashyap on 1st October 1975. Mahesh Kashyap belongs to the Bhatra community who are a Scheduled Tribes.
Mahesh Kashyap's wife, Champa Kashyap is a member of Jagdalpur Janpad Panchayat.
