Rampal Singh won to the 2006 by-elections from the Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
He was also elected as a member of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Polls from Silwani - Begumgunj constituency between 1990 and 1998. Thereafter, he got re-elected as MLA in 2003 and 2013, respectively. Rampal Singh has also served as the former Minister of Public Works Department of Madhya Pradesh State Assembly.
