Taranjit Singh Sandhu Biography

Taranjit Singh Sandhu, a member of the Samundri family. His lineage includes notable figures such as his grandfather, the revered freedom fighter Sardar Teja Singh Samundri, and his father, Bishan Singh Samundri, who served as the founding Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University.

He entered the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1988 and began his diplomatic journey as First Secretary (Political) at the Indian Embassy.

His spouse, Reena Sandhu, also an IFS officer, served as the embassy's Commercial Officer, and together, they are parents of a son and a daughter.

Adding a new chapter to his career, Taranjit Singh Sandhu transitioned into politics, aligning himself with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the commencement of the Lok Sabha election. He is a BJP nominee from the Amritsar constituency in Punjab in the 18th Lok Sabha election.
