Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, born on 29th November 1965 in Patna, is a distinguished Member of Parliament representing the Paschim Champaran constituency of Bihar. He comes from a family with a strong political background; his father, Dr. Madan Prasad Jaiswal, was also a Member of Parliament. His mother is Dr. Saroj Jaiswal.
Dr. Jaiswal has a long and successful political career. He was first elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009. During this term, he served on the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He also held the position of President of the BJP in West Champaran.
He was re-elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in May 2014. During his second term, he served as the Whip for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha and was a member of several important committees, including the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare, the Committee on Estimates, and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
In May 2019, Dr. Jaiswal was re-elected to the 17th Lok Sabha, marking his third consecutive term. He was appointed Chief Whip of the BJP in the Lok Sabha and continued to serve on various committees, such as the Business Advisory Committee and the Committee on Estimates. He also became the President of the BJP in Bihar State and chaired the Standing Committee on Water Resources.
Dr. Jaiswal has been actively involved in numerous parliamentary committees, including the Joint Committee on the Personal Data Protection Bill, the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers. He also played a key role in the Joint Committee on the Biological Diversity (Amendment) Bill, 2022, and the Joint Committee on Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions).
Beyond his parliamentary responsibilities, Dr. Jaiswal is dedicated to social causes. He organises medical camps and works for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.), and people below the poverty line.
In his leisure time, he enjoys playing badminton, bridge, and swimming, and he has won many awards in these sports during his school and college years.
He is the President of the Lions Club, Bettiah, and has held various positions in the Lions Club International and the Indian Medical Association in West Champaran. Additionally, he serves as the President of the District Badminton Association.
