Pratap Singh Bajwa Biography

A Member of Rajya Sabha, Partap Singh Bajwa is an Indian politician who has his roots in the Congress party as his father Sardar Satnam Singh himself was three time MLA from the Congress party in Punjab state assembly and had served as a cabinet minister too in the Punjab Government. Following the footprint of his father, Pratap Singh Bajwa also joined Congress as a student leader, gradually rose through the ranks and got elected as an MLA in Punjab assembly and also represented Gurudaspur constituency in the Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014.

Pratap Singh Bajwa completed his schooling from Punjab Public School, Nabha and later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He started his career in politics as a student leader in 1976. Right from a volunteer, he rose to the President of State Congress. He has served as a minister under chief ministers Beant Singh, Rajinder Kaur Bhathal, and Amarinder Singh
