Vivek Krishna Tankha belongs to the Congress party and connects his root-back in Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh. He earned immense popularity as the president of the Rotary Club of Jabalpur when he helped scores of families rebuild their house, who have lost their abodes due to an earthquake in 1997.
Vivek Tankha went to record book as he joined as the youngest Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh on 16 February 1999. He was also the first lawyer from Madhya Pradesh to be appointed as Additional Solicitor General of India.
A dedicated congressman, Vivek had contested the Lok Sabha election in 2014 and 2019 as a congress candidate from the Jabalpur constituency of Madhya Pradesh but couldn't pull a victory. In June 2022, the Congress party placed him in the Rajya Sabha election from Madhya Pradesh. And then, Tankha became the winner to reach the upper house of the Indian parliament as an MP.
