Sibamoni Bora

Sibamoni Bora became publicly associated with electoral politics in Assam in the period leading up to the 2021 Assam Legislative Assembly elections. Before her candidature, she was involved in local political and community-level engagement in the Golaghat region and worked within the organisational structure of the Bharatiya Janata Party at the constituency level.

In 2021, she was fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party as its candidate from the Golaghat Assembly constituency, a politically significant seat in Upper Assam. During the election campaign, she focused on constituency representation, coordination with state-level governance, and outreach to local voters. She won the election and entered the Assam Legislative Assembly for the first time.

Following her election in May 2021, Sibamoni Bora began her legislative tenure as a first-time MLA. During the 2021–2022 Assembly sessions, she participated in proceedings related to state governance, budget discussions, and constituency-related matters. Her early legislative period was marked by familiarisation with Assembly procedures and engagement in regional development issues affecting Golaghat.

Between 2022 and 2024, she continued to function as a sitting MLA, maintaining regular constituency contact and participating in legislative debates and Assembly sittings. Her political role during this period remained focused on representation and coordination rather than holding ministerial or executive office. She remained aligned with the BJP’s legislative agenda within the Assam Assembly.

During 2024–2026, Sibamoni Bora continued her term as a Member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from Golaghat. She remained active in Assembly proceedings, party activities, and constituency engagement.

As of 2026, she continues to serve as an elected MLA, contributing to Assam’s legislative process through representation and participation in state-level politics.
