Ramya Haridas Biography

Ramya secured a remarkable victory, winning by a substantial margin of 1.59 lakh votes against incumbent MP P K Biju of CPM. This triumph serves as sweet revenge against those who launched negative attacks against her during the election.
Hailing from humble beginnings as the daughter of a daily wage worker and a tailor, she faced financial constraints, with personal assets totalling only Rs 22,816. Facing the challenge of funding her campaign, well-wishers initiated an "election fund challenge" on social media to support her.
She was handpicked by Congress president Rahul Gandhi for her unique electioneering strategy, which included singing folk songs at events.
