Born on July 24, 1963, in Bangalore to P. Chikkamuni Swamappa and P.C. Ramakka, Mohan has dedicated his career to public service and political leadership.

Mohan began his political journey by serving as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Chikpet constituency. He successfully represented the constituency for two consecutive terms.

In the 15th Lok Sabha elections, Mohan secured victory and was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Bangalore Central constituency. He was re-election for a second term in the Lok Sabha in the 2014 general elections.
