Mithlesh Kumar was born to Paragu Lal and Vitoli Devi in Agona Bujurag on 5th November 1964. He married Shakuntala Devi in 1988 and was blessed with three children.

He was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh on the Bharatiya Janata Party ticket in 2022. He married Shakuntala Devi in 1988 and they are blessed with three children.

Currently, he is a dedicated Member of the Board of Management at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow.
