Virender Kanwar is the former MLA from Kutlehar of Himachal Pradesh since 2003. He won the elections back-to-back four times as a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Kanwar was also the Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries.
The politician was born on 29th January 1964 in Nadaun, Hamirpur to Jagjit Singh. He completed LLB and B.A. degree from the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Virender Kanwar is married to Meena Kumari, who is a housewife and agriculturist. The couple has a daughter and a son.
