• 2018: Telangana Congress suspended Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy on 26th September 2018, after giving 2 show cause notices he didn't turn up.
• 2011: Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a hunger strike in the cause of a separate Telangana state on 1 November 2011 at Nalgonda and continued it for straight 9 days which is unprecedented in Telangana history.
• 2010: He resigned both his ministry and his assembly seat in support of the Telangana cause in 2010 and again in October 2011, although the Congress government refused to accept his resignation as an MLA.
• 1999: Komtireddy won as a candidate from Nalgonda assembly constituency four times, in 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014. He was a Minister for Information Technology in YS Rajasekhar Reddy's government. He served as minister for ports.

Komtireddy won 3 terms as an MLA and served as minister for Information Technology and ports.
Komatireddy won as a candidate from Nalgonda Assembly constituency for four times as Congress nominee.
Later he launched a hunger strike demanding Telangana Statehood on November 2011 and continued it for nine days which recorded in Telangana History.
He started Komatireddy Prateek Foundation, in the memory of his son. He undertook the construction of Prateek Memorial Government Junior College for Boys and Vocational Junior College for Girls in Nalgonda at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore by the Foundation.
He organised awareness programmes on road safety and runs an ambulance under his organization.
