M. Y. Patil is one of the oldest politicians of Karnataka, who is associated with the Indian National Congress party. He presently serves as MLA from Afzalpur constituency since 2018. Before that, he won the state assembly election from the same constituency but as a Janata Dal (Secular) candidate in 2004. Presently, he is contesting from the Afzalpur constituency for its impending assembly election 2023 on an INC ticket.
Patil was born on April 5, 1941, to Yashwantrao at Desai Kallur. Apart from politics, he is into Agriculture and Social Work.
