Chander Kumar is a senior politician from the state Himachal Pradesh. He is involved with the Indian National Congress party. He is the current MLA and cabinet minister from the constituency of Jawali. He holds the portfolios of Agriculture Minister and Animal husbandry as the cabinet minister of Himachal Pradesh since January 8, 2023. He also won the assembly election 2022 with 51.22 per cent of votes.
Before that, Chander ji got elected five times as MLA from Guler constituency between 1983 and 2004. Mr. Chander was also inducted to the position of cabinet minister of Himachal Pradesh from 1983 to 1999. Also, represented as the MP from the constituency of Kangra from 2004 to 2009.
About personal life, Chander Kumar was born on May 8, 1944, to Sh. Beli Ram. He is married to Krishna Chaudhary, who is a retired Teacher. They have a son named Neeraj Bharti and a daughter named Sonima Bharti.
