Jayant Sinha serves as the Member of Parliament from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Born on April 21, 1963, in Giridih, Jharkhand, he is the son of the bureaucrat and seasoned politician Yashwant Sinha and Nilima Sinha.

Jayant Sinha has been an integral figure in Indian politics and policy-making since the 1990s. During his father's tenure as Finance Minister under Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government (1998-2002), Sinha actively participated in shaping key policies, providing valuable insights that led to the implementation of initiatives such as the mortgage interest tax deduction and the introduction of the Saral form to simplify income tax filing and enhance tax compliance.

In May 2014, Sinha secured a resounding victory in the elections, winning his parliamentary seat by an impressive margin of approximately 1,60,000 votes. Sinha's professional journey also includes significant stints at Courage Capital Management and McKinsey & Company. At Courage Capital, he served as Managing Director, overseeing global technology investments and India-related ventures for a billion-dollar special situations hedge fund.

Before this, Sinha spent twelve years at McKinsey & Company, where he rose to the position of Partner in both the Boston and Delhi offices. At McKinsey, he co-led the global Software & IT Services Practice, showcasing his deep understanding of the IT/BPO and Telecom sectors.

Furthermore, Sinha's influence extends beyond the corporate realm, as evidenced by his advisory roles for various governmental bodies in India. He has provided strategic counsel to the Indian government on entrepreneurship and has served on Advisory Committees for the Finance and Telecom Ministries, as well as the Planning Commission.
