He has been a Minister of State for Finance since 2024 and has a vast legislative career, which he had up his sleeve, various roles in the party, and local politics.

In December 2025, he was the only one to be elected BJP Uttar Pradesh President committee unanimously, and thus, he took key organisational responsibilities, preparing for the next ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌elections.

Pankaj Chaudhary, born on November 20, 1964, in Gorakhpur, is a prominent figure in Indian politics and public service. Currently serving as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance since 2021, he has been a steadfast representative of the Maharajganj constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha, securing his sixth consecutive term.

Chaudhary​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ initiated his political career at the grassroots level. From 1989 to 1991, he was a member of the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation and also served as Deputy Mayor for a part of that tenure. A year later, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and was able to reach higher organisational ranks in a short span of time as he gathered more experience in party work and leadership at the grassroots level.

He secured his first Lok Sabha seat in 1991 from the Maharajganj constituency. Being one of the seven-term MPs, he made a remarkable comeback in each of the elections, thus pursuing his constituency for the Lok Sabha and representing Maharajganj. His commitment to the constituency and political acumen earned him a loyal following.

In 2024, he was given the charge of the Union Minister of State for Finance in the Government of India. Along with his financial and economic engagements, he maintains his parliamentary duties. Following that, in December 2025, he was the BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit President, elected by the members with a single voice, a very significant organisational post as the party is gearing up for the forthcoming elections. By the year 2025, Chaudhary was still immersed in his legislative work and party affairs. He was also entrusted with leadership duties in his home state and at the ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌centre.
