Jai Prakash Rawat, born to Jagannath Prasad and Vidyawati on April 16, 1958, in Lucknow, has been a prominent figure in Indian politics. His journey began with his election to the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991, marking the initiation of his political career. Following this, he secured re-election to the 11th Lok Sabha in 1996 and continued his streak by winning a seat in the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999. Demonstrating remarkable consistency, Rawat was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004 for a fourth consecutive term.

In 2009, he transitioned to the upper house of the Indian parliament, the Rajya Sabha, cementing his influence in national politics. However, in the 2019 general elections, Rawat returned to the grassroots level by winning the Hardoi Lok Sabha constituency.
