Narayana Koragappa was born to Koragappa and Lakshmi in Mangaluru on 12th June 1952. He married Sudha Narayana and was blessed with four daughters.
He was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka in 2020 on the Bharatiya Janata Party ticket.
He serves as a member of the Council of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Additionally, I've been appointed as a member of the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament.
As an author, he has written 'Chandra Deepa,' a detective novel in the Tulu language under the pen name K. N. Devanga. Alongside his literary pursuits, he has been an integral part of Sambhashana Sandesha, a revered Sanskrit Monthly Magazine, for an impressive span of 27 years.
He is also a publisher of Sambhashana Sandesha, a Sanskrit monthly magazine, and a Trustee at Nithyananda Yogashrama Trust Regd in Uppala, Kasaragodu, Kerala. Additionally, SahaSanchalak at Nekara Prakoshta, B.J.P. Karnataka, and Chief Patron of Nekara Vani Monthly Magazine and Devanga Jyothi Monthly Magazine in Bengaluru.

Additionally, he serves as a Director at Shree Cheerumba Bhagavathi Credit Co-operative Society Ltd and Kuruhina Souhardha Co-operative Society Ltd in Bengaluru, as well as Treasurer at Karnataka Rajya Devanga Sangha in Bengaluru.
Formerly held the position of Treasurer at Hindu Seva Pratishtana in Bengaluru for over 25 years and Technical Director at Digantha Mudrana Ltd in Mangaluru for the same duration. Also served as Editor of 'Tuluvere Kedige' a Tulu Magazine.
Over the past 40 years, he has been actively involved in community development efforts, particularly in Mangaluru and surrounding areas. He successfully mobilised funds from both community members and the Government of Karnataka for the construction of a much-needed 'samudaya bhavana' (community hall) to serve the poor and needy individuals.
Through the Devanga Samaja, he has extended support to underprivileged students in Mangaluru, Puttur, and Uppala, facilitating their education by arranging financial assistance through initiatives like "Kalyana Nidhi," "Vidya Nidhi," and "Sanskara Nidhi."
Additionally, he spearheaded the construction of a community hall in Sri Bhagavathi Kshetra, Kumble, Kerala, and actively contributed to the construction of 28 houses for impoverished families at Kondevoor Nithyananda Yogashrama.
