Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri served as the 23rd Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He is also a former MLA from Sirsi constituency served from 2008 to 2023 and before that, he represented Ankola constituency from 1994 to 2008. Vishweshwar earlier served as the Minister for Primary and Secondary Education from 2008 to 2013 in the Karnataka Government.

Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri was born on July 10, 1961, in Sirsi, Mysore to Anant Shivram Hegde and Sarweshwari Hegde. He is married to Bharati Hegde, and they have three daughters named Jayalakshmi, Rajalakshmi, Shreelakshmi.
