E. V. Velu is a an Indian politician, associated with the DMK party. At present, he is the MLA of Thiruvannamalai and a Minister for Public Works Division in the state of Tamil Nadu. He has also served as Cabinet Minister for Food and Civil Supplies in DMK government led by M. Karunanidhi.
He earned a M.A. in History from Annamalai University and besides being a seasoned politician, he is also chairman of various educational institutions.
