Dr Satyanarayan Jatiya born in Jawad, Madhya Pradesh is an Agriculturist, Lawyer and Social worker. He is the senior Leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and also a formal Federal Minister. He acquired his doctorate from Vikram University, Madhya Pradesh. He entered the active politics in 1972 in Emergency Period and was detained under MISA (Maintenance of Internal Security Act). He made his way into mainstream politics by contesting in 1977 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election and tasted his first political victory. From 1980, He started contesting for Lokasabha from Ujjain constituency and became MP seven times. In this period he held different portfolios and done justice to them. He was also a cabinet minister in Atal Bihari Vajapeyi 1998-2004 Govt. In 2014, he was elected to the Rajyasabha. Apart from Politician he is also a poet and holds a passion for all art forms.
