Dr. Sikander Kumar Biography
Dr. Sikander Kumar was born to Raunfi Ram and Prabhi Devi in Dagoh in the Hamirpur district on 10th April 1968. He married Jyoti in 1995 and they are blessed with two sons.
He was associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (A.B.V.P.) for 17 years, working in various capacities and responsibilities, while his first year in school was when he received education and association with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
He was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Himachal Pradesh in 2022 on the Bharatiya Janata Party ticket.
He serves as a member of the Committee on Industry, contributing valuable insights and expertise to shape industrial policies and practices. Additionally, he is also a member of the Executive Council of the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies (ICPS).
With an extensive body of work, He has authored three books, a journal publication, and 43 research articles. His academic leadership extends to guiding seventeen Ph.D. theses, 49 M.Phil. theses, and 54 Master of Arts in Business Economics (M.A.B.E.) student project reports.
Furthermore, he has completed 38 major research projects, demonstrating a commitment to advancing knowledge and nurturing the next generation of scholars.
He has been a Member of different Academic and Administrative Bodies at the various State and Central Government Departments and Institutions
Apart from this, he has organised, participated in, attended, and chaired several political and academic meetings. He has been honoured to be a Speaker/Chief Guest/Special Guest/Guest of Honour at several such meetings.
In addition to academics, he finds interest in playing badminton, football, volleyball listening to music, etc.
