Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar Biography

Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar was born on November 23, 1959, in Kolkata to Ajit Moitra and Ira Moitra.

In 2009, she was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha, marking the beginning of her political career.

Since then, Dr. Ghosh Dastidar has held various significant positions. Notably, she served as a Member of the Standing Committee on Home Affairs in 2009 and later became a member of the Committee on Government Assurances in September of the same year. In October 2009, she joined the Committee on Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme, furthering her involvement in parliamentary affairs.

Continuing her tenure, Dr. Ghosh Dastidar was re-elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in May 2014. During this term, she served on the Standing Committee on Home Affairs.

In 2014, she was appointed to the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Railways.

She was re-elected for the third time to the 17th Lok Sabha in May 2019. During this term, she assumed various responsibilities, including membership in the Panel of Chairpersons and the Standing Committee on Home Affairs.
