C Puttarangashetty is the member of Indian National Congress. He is an MLA from Chamarajanagar constituency. Puttarangashetty entered political fray as Congress candidate from Chamarajnagar assembly in 2008. In the 2018 Karnataka legislative assembly election he has defeated his nearest competitor K R Mallikarjunappa by 4913 votes. In the 2023 assembly election, Puttarangashetty won from the constituency of Chamarajnagar by bagging over 83,858 number of votes.
