Anil Desai is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He is also the General Secretary of the Sthaniya Lokadhikar Samiti Mahasangh.

Anil Desai Biography

Anil Desai was born to Yeshwant Desai and Gulab Yeshwant Desai in Mumbai on 2nd May 1957. He married Priti Anil Desai in 1983 and was blessed with two daughters.

He was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra in 2018 as a member of Shiv Sena. Currently, he serves as a member of both the Committee on Papers Laid on the Table and the Committee on External Affairs.

Since 1978, he has been an active member of Shiv Sena. He has been serving as All India Party Secretary since 2002. Additionally, he holds the position of General Secretary in Sthaniya Lokadhikar Samiti Mahasangh, a Shiv Sena affiliate working on advocating for the rights of locals in Maharashtra and tackling unemployment.

Since 1996, he has also been the All India General Secretary of Bharatiya Bima Karmachari Sena Mahasangh, representing insurance companies including LIC. He also serves as Vice-Chairperson of Mumbai Insurance Institute.

With a passion for social service, he specialises in organising impactful seminars, conferences, and development programs aimed at fostering positive change within communities.

Apart from politics, his interest lies in cricket and gymnastics. He is even a Member of the Finance Committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association. During his free time, he enjoys reading, listening to music and participating in social activities.
