Andimuthu Raja is an Indian Politician and the current Deputy General Secretary of DMK.
Andimuthu Raja is a leader of DMK who entered the political trenches as a student activist and worked his way up DMK. He won four consecutive parliament elections, thrice from Perambalur constituency and once from Nilgiris. He was born in Perambalur District. After matric, he moved to Tiruchirappalli where he did his master's from Government Law College. He started his career as a lawyer and later joined politics. He was first elected to Parliament in 1996 from the Perambalur constituency. He also served as Minister of Rural development from 1996 to 2000 and then in May 2007, after the resignation of Dayanidhi Maran, he became the cabinet minister for Communication and Information Technology. Raja was investigated in the 2G Spectrum case and subsequently acquitted in 2017.
