Anant Kumar Singh Biography
Anant Singh is an MLA from the Mokama constituency of Bihar and a former member of the Janata Dal (United) party. He is embroiled in criminal activities and has several charges filed against him. He was born in a village Nadawan in Barh CD block, Bihar. He contested and won the Mokama assembly seat in 2005 on a JDU ticket. He retained the seat in 2010, defeating Sonam Devi of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) by a large margin of 8950 votes. He is married to Neelam Devi and is fondly known as Chote Sarkar. On 2 September 2015, Singh quit the JDU following a fall-out with leader Nitish Kumar over JDU's new alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

- Anant Singh has announced himself as the Congress Candidate from Munger, even without talking to party president Rahul Gandhi. He said, in case Congress Party denies his candidature, he will again contest as an Independent candidate.
- He successfully contested assembly elections from Mokama seat. His election symbol was a diesel pump. Anant Singh defeated JD(U) candidate Neeraj Singh by 18,361 votes. His vote share was 37.35% which was 7 per cent lesser in comparison to previous election.
- In September 2015, he quit JDU after the announcement of Mahagathbandhan by Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav. Both denied to give him an election ticket.
- He again won from Mokama assembly seat on JDU ticket. This time he defeated LJP candidate Sonam Devi by 8954 votes.
- He won Bihar assembly elections from Mokama assembly seat on JDU ticket. He defeated Nalini Ranjan Sharma of LJP by 2835 votes.
