Narendra Keshav Sawaikar was born on 29 December 1966. On the education front, he completed his SSCE from M.I.B.K. High School, Khandepar, Ponda in 1982. After completing his HSSCE from the Dhempe Higher Secondary School in Panaji, he did B.A. from the Bombay University in 1987. He also holds a degree in law (LL.B) from the Goa University. Before entering into politics he was busy with his legal profession. In 1995-96 he was practising law under Justice Ferdino Rebello, the former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. In the year 2001 to 2004, he was the Standing Counsel for Union of India in the High court of Bombay at Goa and he became the Additional Govt. Advocate for Govt. of Goa in the High Court in the year 2002 to 2004. He was elected as the Chairman of the Students' Council of Goa University from 1989 to 1990 and 1990 to 1991. He is currently a member of the 16th Lok Sabha. He represents the South Goa seat.
