V. Muraleedharan

V. Muraleedharan was born on 12 December 1958 in Kerala. He pursued his education in English literature and became actively involved in socio-political activities from a young age.

He began his political journey through student movements and later became associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party, gradually rising through organisational ranks in Kerala. He served as the State President of the BJP Kerala from 2010 to 2015, strengthening the party’s base in the state.

He was elected as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha in 2018, marking his entry into national-level legislative politics and expanding his role within the party.

In May 2019, he was appointed as Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, serving in the Union government until June 2024. His tenure marked a significant phase in his political career at the national level.

He has also been actively involved in political debates and public issues in Kerala, continuing his role as a senior BJP leader after his ministerial tenure.

As of Mar 2026, V. Muraleedharan is contesting the upcoming Kerala Assembly election from the Kazhakoottam Assembly constituency, continuing his active engagement in state politics and public affairs.
