A. Raja

A. Raja, also known as Anthony Raja, was born in Kerala and hails from the tribal communities of the high ranges in Idukki district. He has been closely associated with grassroots movements focusing on the rights and welfare of Scheduled Tribe populations in the region.

He is a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and built his political career through sustained involvement in local governance, cooperative activities, and party organisational work. Over the years, he emerged as a prominent representative of tribal interests within the party structure in Kerala.

Before entering the state legislature, he actively worked on issues such as land rights, access to basic amenities, and livelihood concerns affecting tribal communities in remote and hilly areas. His political engagement has been centred on addressing socio-economic challenges in these regions.

In 2021, he was elected as a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from the Devikulam Assembly constituency, a seat reserved for Scheduled Tribes. His victory marked a significant milestone in his political career and strengthened his role as a voice for marginalised communities.

During his tenure, he has been associated with initiatives related to tribal welfare, infrastructure development, and improving public service delivery in his constituency. His work reflects a continued focus on inclusive development in geographically challenging areas.

As of Mar 2026, A. Raja (Anthony Raja) is contesting the upcoming Kerala Assembly election from the Devikulam constituency, continuing his legislative responsibilities and political engagement in the state.
