L.S. Tejasvi Surya

Tejasvi Surya was born on November 16, 1990, in Bangalore to Suryanarayana L.A. and Rama Suryanarayana. He pursued a career in law and is actively engaged in legal practice. Alongside his legal pursuits, Surya harbors a profound interest in history, philosophy, science, and civilizational studies.

In 2019, Surya made headlines as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate who emerged victorious from the Bangalore South constituency, becoming the youngest candidate to secure a win in the Lok Sabha Polls at the age of 28. He contested again in the 2024 elections, seeking re-election from the same constituency against Congress candidate Sowmya Reddy. Prior to his political career, Surya contributed to BJP campaigns during the 2014 general elections.

During his childhood, Surya founded the Arise India Movement, advocating for education and addressing issues concerning the children of construction laborers. Noteworthy initiatives include organizing rallies and a Midnight Freedom Run in 2016, attended by political leaders of Karnataka. He also regularly arranged music festivals and cultural activities through his foundation.

Outside of politics, Surya is an avid follower of Swami Vivekananda, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Veer Savarkar, demonstrating a keen interest in history, religion, and spirituality. He is a proponent of Hindutva, embracing the inclusive philosophy that has been integral to Bharat since ancient times.

In his leisure time, Surya attends Carnatic and Hindustani concerts, indulges in reading about India's history, modern challenges, and technological advancements, and enjoys well-researched documentaries. Additionally, he engages in sports activities such as cricket, badminton, jogging, cycling, and swimming, relishing outdoor exploration and physical fitness.
