Satnam Singh Sandhu

Satnam Singh Sandhu, a prominent figure in Indian education, hails from Punjab, born into a farming family. Alongside his agricultural pursuits, he has made significant contributions to the educational landscape of India.

In 2001, Sandhu laid the foundation of the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) at Landran in Mohali, marking the beginning of his journey in educational entrepreneurship. Building upon this success, he established Chandigarh University in 2012, further expanding his vision for accessible and quality education.

Sandhu's upbringing was marked by adversity, where he faced numerous challenges in pursuit of education. However, his perseverance and determination propelled him forward, shaping his ethos of resilience and empathy.

Driven by his struggles, Sandhu has emerged as a dedicated philanthropist, offering financial assistance to students in need. Moreover, he actively engages in community initiatives aimed at enhancing public health and well-being.

In his commitment to fostering communal harmony, Sandhu spearheads two NGOs, namely the Indian Minorities Foundation and the New India Development (NID) Foundation. Through these organisations, he endeavours to promote unity and social cohesion across the nation.
