Ajit Kumar Bhuyan is a President of the Anchalik Gana Morcha, a journalist, a Social Worker and a member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from the state of Assam.
He was born on 1st February 1952 in Jorhat. His father’s name is J. N. Bhuyan and his mother’s name is Aidhan Bhuyan. He has not married anyone yet.
He began his career at Dainik Janambhumi in Jorhat as a sub-editor before becoming a Senior Journalist. In 2020, he founded the Anchalik Gana Morcha and became its chief convenor. He is also the founder of the Assam Sports Journalist Association in Assam.
He was later elected to the Rajya Sabha from Assam, where he serves on the Committee on Energy and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Development of Northeastern Region. He is also a member of the India International Centre (IIC) in New Delhi.
