Rupkumari Choudhary Biography
Rupkumari Choudhary is a District President of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) from Mahasamund. She is a former Parliamentary Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Government and a former Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Basna.
She won the 2013 elections by defeating Congress candidate and sitting MLA Devendra Bahadur Singh on the BJP ticket. She received 77,137 votes while Bahadur Singh got 70,898 votes.
From November 2019 till now, she has held the post of Mahasamund District BJP President.
The BJP has nominated her to contest the 2024 general elections from the Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituency in Chhattisgarh.
In 2018, her ticket was cancelled and Durgacharan Patel was given the ticket. But he too could not win and the BJP remained in the third position. She had also demanded a ticket for the 2023 assembly. But she was not given the Assembly ticket, she was directly given the Lok Sabha ticket.
She has been a Director of the Primary Cooperative Union and a District Cooperative Union. She is also associated with the Rashtriya Swayanmsewak Sangh (RSS).
She was born to Khemraj Patel and Hitavati Patel in Basna on 5th July 1976. She married Om Prakash Chaudhary.
