Parkash Singh Badal Biography

Parkash Singh Badal, original name Parkash Singh Dhillon, was an Indian politician and government official who rose to become president from 1996–2008 of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), a Sikh-focused regional political party in Punjab state. Badal was born into a family of landowning farmers in what is now western Punjab state and earned a B.A. degree from Forman Christian College in Lahore which is now in Pakistan. Parkash Singh Badal was also the patron of Akali Dal. He served as the president of the party from 1995 to 2008, only to be replaced by his son Sukhbir Singh Badal.
It is saddened to inform that the veteran politician took his last breath on April 25, 2023 after suffering from multiple health issues. Parkash Singh was admitted at Mohali hospital and died at the age of 95.
