Born and raised in Maduravoyal, Chennai, Padma Priya Srinivasan developed a keen interest in nature and environmental concerns from a young age. She pursued her education diligently, completing her schooling at Ryan International High School and earning an M.Sc. degree in Microbiology from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, in 2018.
Padma Priya's career began with a strong focus on activism. She rose to prominence through her YouTube channel, 'Chennai Thamizhachi', where she created and shared videos on various environmental and social topics. At 25 years old, she was one of the youngest candidates fielded by the party.
Following the 2021 elections, Padma Priya Srinivasan resigned from MNM in May 2021. She subsequently joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on July 8, 2021, and continues her political journey as a member of the DMK. Beyond politics and activism, she has also been a teacher and a researcher.
