P JAYARAJAN

P Jayarajan is one of the prominent CPM leaders from Kannur.Entering politics through the student movement, Jayarajan served as SFI district secretary and president several times.Jayarajan became a cpm member in 1972 and served as the party's Koothuparamba area secretary for ten years.Later he became a member of Kannur District Secretariat, was included in the State Committee at the State Convention held at Palakkad in 1998.Jayarajan was elected as the Acting Secretary of the CPM Kannur District Committee in December 2010 and became the District Secretary in 2011. He remained secretary for the next two sessions.P Jayarajan was a former CITU president in Kannur district who was active in trade union activities.He has also served as the President of the Kuthuparamba Area Head Load Workers Union.He was the former head of the Kannur edition of the Deshabhimani daily,and is currently the director of Patyom Gopalan Memorial Research Study Center.P Jayarajan, who contested for the Assembly from Koothuparamba three times in 2001, 2005 and 2006, and contested for the Lok Sabha from Vadakara in 2019 but lost.
