P. C. George (Plathottathil Chacko George) was born on 28 August 1951 in Aruvithura, in the Kottayam district of Kerala. He entered politics through student movements and gradually rose within Kerala’s regional political framework.

He has had a long and dynamic political career, being elected multiple times as a Member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from the Poonjar constituency, serving for over three decades in total.

Throughout his career, he has been associated with several parties, including Kerala Congress factions, and later functioned as an independent leader before forming his own party, Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) in 2017.

He served as the Chief Whip of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2015, playing a key role in legislative proceedings during the UDF government.

In 2024, his party merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party, marking another major shift in his political journey. In the 2021 Kerala Assembly election, he contested from Poonjar but lost to Sebastian Kulathunkal, ending his long legislative tenure.
