Mohan Charan Majhi Biography

Mohan Charan Manjhi, currently serving as the Chief Minister of Odisha, is an esteemed four-time MLA from Keonjhar. He began his political journey in 1997 as a village sarpanch, gradually rising through the ranks. As a tribal leader, he has represented Keonjhar in the Odisha Legislative Assembly three times between 2000 and 2009. In the 2019 elections, as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he secured his fourth term, representing Keonjhar.

Within the BJP's state unit, Manjhi is respected as a strong organizational leader, known for his close ties with the RSS. Despite his typically non-controversial stance, he garnered attention last year for an incident where he allegedly threw uncooked pulses at the Odisha Assembly speaker's podium. This act led to his suspension along with BJP leader Mukesh Mahaling.
