• Ashwini Chaubey submitted his resignation as the MoS in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

• He was appointed MoS ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

• He contested and won the 17th Lok Sabha election from the Buxar constituency, where he defeated Jagada Nand Singh of RJD by a margin of over 70,000 votes.

• He became the Union Minister of State under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

• He was a member of Sub Committee-I of the Committee on Estimates.

• He became a member of the Committee on Estimates, a member of the Standing Committee on Energy, a member of the Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and a member of the Central Silk Board. Also, He was appointed as Permanent Special Invitee at the Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation.

• He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in the 2016 general election as a candidate from Bharatiya Janata Party.

• Ashwini Kumar Choubey was again elected to Bihar Assembly and became Minister for Health under the Govt. of Bihar.

• He was again elected to Bihar Assembly from Bhagalpur. Later he was appointed as Minister of Public Health Engineering Department under the Govt. of Bihar.

• He was re-elected to Bihar Assembly from Bhagalpur. This time he defeated RJD candidate Arun Kumar.

• Ashwini Kumar Choubey was elected as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Bhagalpur seat. He defeated Kedar Nath Yadav of Janata Dal.

• He was elected as president of the Student`s Union at Patna University. He participated in the All India Student`s Union Leader Conference, Patna, in 1979.

• He was a full-time Member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. And later became a member of the National Executive. He constructed 11 thousand toilets for Mahadalit families.

• He Participated in J.P. Movement (Bihar Student Leader Conference). He was taken into custody under DIR and MISA two times. He was imprisoned in Phulwari Sharif and Bihar Jail Kand.

• He participated in the All India Student Leaders Conference held at Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala).

• Ashwini Kumar Choubey actively participated in the Students Movement against the Chief Minister of Govt. of Bihar.

• Sworn in as the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Environment, and Forest & Climate Change.

He participated in the Student Movement against the Chief Minister of Govt. of Bihar in 1967 - 68 at the All India Student Leaders Conference held at Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) 1972-73. He Participated in J.P. Movement (Bihar Student Leader Conference) Feb 17 - 18 in 1973. He was taken into custody under DIR and MISA (second time) at Phulwari Sharif, Bihar Jail Kand. He was the President of the Student`s Union at Patna University (1978-79). He participated in the All India Student`s Union Leader Conference, Patna in 1979. He was a full-time Member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad from 1974 to 1987 and a member of the National Executive. He constructed 11 thousand toilets for Mahadalit families.
