Gulzari Lal Nanda was an political activist and served as the second Prime Minister of India for a brief stint following the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964 and again in 1966 after the death of Lal Bahadur Sashtri. Both the stints were extremely brief in their tenure. Prior to entrenching himself in the freedom movement Gulzari Lal was a professor of Economics in Bombay in 1921.He was imprisoned during satyagraha in 1932.
