• 2014: He tried a lot for Loksabha ticket from BJP but part decided to field Bodhsingh Bhagat from Balaghat and he won.
• 2013: 2013 MP assembly election was interesting because a new politician emerged against Bisen. That was Anubha Munjare of Samajwadi Party, but she also failed to defeat Bisen.

• 1993: He registered his third consecutive victory from Balaghat. This time he defeated Nand Kishore Sharma of Congress with the margin of around 3000 votes.
• 1990: Bisen was re-elected to Assembly. He defeated Shailendra Choukase of INC with the margin of 8527 votes.
• 1985: Gaurishankar Bisen was elected to Madhya Pradesh assembly from the Balaghat Legislative Constituency. He contested on BJP ticket and defeated Sayeeda Khatoon of Congress Party with the margin of 7392 votes.
